I was taking a nap inside the house when it was really hot. We lived in a one floor house and the kids rooms and a bathroom was on one side of the house and the kKitchen Master Suite and Bathroom here on the other side. There was a Great Room in the center. It was a great houe and if I ever get the chance again I would live in that house again. It had so much room and so much storage space in it. It was Yellow on the outside and the street name was Kimberly Drive in Deltona. It was a great place to live.
Anyway she comes running in the house all flustered and excited and yell Mome ther is a Turkey outside. I told her no there wasn't and she wanted me to come see it. I went with her and she showed it to me. It was about 10 feet from us and I just watched in amazment. It was a very tall crane. Not wur of the variety but it was all white. It didn't pay attention to us and eventually walked off. That was an amazing experience and loved it and I love nature and all things like that. Who'd a thought that we wuold actually see one of those in our yard eve.
The other turkey was a Thanksgiving Dinner we were having with a couple of Navy plebs. They were on the list of people who couldn't be with their families that year. It was a three hours trip and so I was cooking the turkey and all the fixings. They got to our home and I was still cooking the turkey and so I checked out the stove and it wasn't as hot as it should have been. This was the very first time I have ever had to call that Turkey Hotline becasue I though that we would have to do something else and I had no idea what that was going to be. I explained my problem and they were going to tell me what I should d about it. They told me that one of my electric coils in the oven had stopped working. So the question that I asked was it safe to cook it and they told me yes but it would take longer. The stuffing would be fine in the bird too. Whew that ws a worry off my chest. I went ahead and make the mashed potoatoes, sweet potatoes, corn and green beans. I had to wait on the gravy and the noodles because they needed the juice from the turkey to make. The rolls needed to be in theoven after I took it out. Man it took 6 hours to cook that turkey instead of three. It came out delishious and very tender. Amazingingly good even for the longer hours to cook it. We were so worried about getting the people back in time for meet their curfew. If I remember correctly they had 6 hours for their visit. It all turned out great! With all the time that they were there and waiting for the turkey to cook we had a nice time chatting and getting to learn and know about each other. They made it back in time and I called the landlord and reported it to her. She was a really nice lady and said that she would send someone out the next day. They did coe the next day and fixed the oven. That was also a great experience and fun and wish we could have done it again.
